Today I'm sharing a card inspired by Jocelyn, Amy, and Veronica over at Play Date Cafe! I saw their beautiful cards come up in my Google reader and was inspired to play along with the PDC's beautiful color combo challenge!
Along with the colors, I was inspired by the picture of the feathers in the inspiration pic. It was just serendipity when I found that my feather stamp was just the right size for my inkwell die! {The inkwell is actually a small vase die} I cut the inkwell from vellum blended with ink to get that soft peach color. The bottom of the die cut is covered with peach cardstock for 2 reasons: it looks like it's filled with ink AND it covers up the foam tape I used to attach the vellum vase to the card.
As I was planning the card, I wanted something under the inkwell to ground it. I settled on the circle border stamp but quickly realized something was lacking. So I used a small circle stamp to randomly fill in some of the circles. To finish off the card, I debossed the top of the card (above the border) with a linen impression plate and attached the inkwell. So happy with how it turned out! My favorite part is the neck of the inkwell where you can *just* see the tip of the feather. It's the little things people:)
Now I'm off to post it to Play Date Cafe Challenge and while I'm at it, the Moxie Fab Asymmetry Challenge too! As always, MAHALO (thank you) for stopping by!

Just a note...as I was putting together this post, I realized that this reminded me of this lovely card from the even lovelier Karolyn Loncon! I hope my card is different enough that Karolyn doesn't mind me CASEing her and posting to a couple challenges!
Feather? check. Texture? check. Colors? check. Genius? check.
