Waffle Flower December 2019 Release Blog Hop

Happy release day everyone!

Waffle Flower's last release of 2019 turns our thoughts to themes of LOVE and Valentine's Day!   From the whimsical to the bold and graphic, this release has got you covered!  This month, you will find the whimsical mice of the Secret Admirer stampdiecombo) and coordinating Sending Love sets (stampdiecombo) by Cassie Loizeaux; bold and graphic word stamps and dies of Outline Love (stampdieword diecombo) by JJ Bolton; and the fun and creative Sweet Mailbox shaped gift-card holder die with coordinating Sweet Sentiments stamps (stampstand-alone diecombo). This month, Waffle Flower also has the adorable and punny Harpy Birthday set (stampdie, combo) for musical lovers from Big Bear and Bird as well as the 6th set in our popular Bouquet Builder series (stampdiecombo) by Karla Jodoin.
Today I want to share a couple of cards I made with my new design Outline Love.  The Outline Love collection includes a stamp set  and matching outline die.  If you prefer a die cut word, I've also designed a separate word die that is the die cut version of the stamp.  All 3 pieces can be used separately or together.   For this first card, I just used the stamp set and painted it with rainbow watercolors.

To finish it off, I just added a simple sentiment strip heat embossed in white on black cardstock.

For my next card, I used the word die version of Outline Love and inlaid the pieces in rainbow colored cardstock.  The Outline Love stamp set includes a variety of simple sentiments that you can use to customize your card for all your loved ones from your sweetie to your bestie to your kids.

I know this release is all about LOVE, but I just couldn't resist sneaking in a holiday card!  This month, Nina has designed the most fun Sweet Mailbox die set.  This set includes a die that cuts a gift card holder in the shape of a mailbox.  If you don't want to use it for gift cards, they make great 3D elements for your cards . Which is exactly what I did!

For this holiday card, I dressed up the Sweet Mailbox die cut with a festive holiday wreath from last month's Merry Wreath set and added lots of holiday cards!  The Sweet Mailbox die set includes a bunch of teeny envelopes (the cutest!) and other accessories.  The sentiment is borrowed from the previously released Holiday Hugs set.

I hope you enjoyed seeing some of the new Waffle Flower release!  Here' s a full list of the blog hoppers in case you just jumped in!

Waffle Flower Tools & Storage Blog Hop

Hi everyone!

To celebrate the Waffle Flower November 2019 Tools & Storage Release, we have a fun hop for you!  Be sure to leave comments at all the blogs in the hop by November 14, 2019 midnight Eastern for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to Waffle Flower's shop. Winner will be announced here by November 16, 2019 on the Waffle Flower Blog.
Today Waffle Flower is putting out a mini release of new tools and storage supplies!  Like the Water Media Mat and the swatching system, these new products are designed by crafters for crafters.  This release includes some super fun dies and supplies for disc binding.  Disc binding is perfect for swatching, mini albums, journaling, planners, and more!  Waffle Flower is releasing 3 new die sets that cut disc binder pages and the discs in a variety of fun colors.

Also new this month are new die storage Magnetic Boards.  These boards are definitely an upgrade to your current die storage system.  The boards are thick and have a glossy white surface side and a magnetic side.  The thick boards are less flexible which means that your dies stay put.  They work with the Cloud Storage Pockets.  You will love them!

Last but not least, Waffle Flower is releasing Premium Palette Paper.  This paper pad contains 30 sheets of waterproof synthetic paper.  You can use it as a work surface, but it also can be used as media for painting, inking, and more.

Click here if you want to see the whole collection on the website or check out the release video!

Today I want to share a couple of ways I used the new disc binding tools.  Disc binding is so much fun because you can bind different size pages together and you can add, remove, and rearrange pages whenever you want.  For my first project, I made a mini desk calendar.  I printed out the calendar and then used one of the dies from the A2 Disc Bound Die set.  I(f you want to make your own calendar, you can download the PDF file for the calendar on the Waffle Flower site)

After cutting each page, I loosely watercolored each one with different rainbow colors.  After they dried, I popped them onto the discs.

I fashioned a little stand so I could set the calendar on my desk.  I used the previously released  Disc Bound Hole Punch to make the stand, but you can use any of the larger dies to get the same effect.

I also used the same die set to put together a swatch book for some inks.  I used previously released Color Swatches for Inkpads stamp set and the Bullet List stamp set for this book.
I think swatch books like this are so useful because you can bring the swatches to your project.  For my inkpads, I like to stamp a solid stamp and a word stamp to get an idea of how the ink behaves.  The beauty of the disc system is that I can always add to my swatch book when new inks come out:) .  BTW, the little tabs are from the Color Combos A2 Panel die.

That's it for me!  Here's a full list of who's hopping today!  So many fun ideas to are sure to get your creative juices flowing!

Waffle Flower November 2019 Release Blog Hop

Happy release day everyone!
Today I’m so happy to be hopping with the Waffle Flower crew to celebrate the November 2019 release!   This month, Waffle Flower is introducing three whimsical style sets:  Blessed Bear from artist Big Bear and Bird, Merry Wreath by illustrator Cassie Loizeaux, and Winter Hamsters from illustrator Liz Mytinger.  Also new this month is the beautiful floral set Sunflower Love by illustrator Karla Jodoin.  This floral set pairs beautifully with the calligraphy style sentiment set Simply Said 1.  For those who enjoy coordinating panel dies and sentiment sets, there's the new Herringbone Panel and Herringbone Sentiments.  Rounding out the release are the Rainbow Thank You and Cozy Cabin die sets.  For more details on the release, be sure to check out the monthly release video (link below) or check out the introductions on the Waffle Flower blog!

There's such a fun variety of stamps and dies this month, so I have a bunch to share!  Let's start off with this easy holiday card using the new Winter Hamsters set.  This set is so cute and I had so much fun coloring these guys.

I also used these guys in my next card with the new die set, Cozy Cabin.  I designed the Cozy Cabin die set as a builder set to work with for petite images like the Winter Hamsters.  Makes it so easy to build cute little scenes like this.

Speaking of cute, Cassie Loizeaux has a new set this month called Merry Wreath.  This set has a multi step wreath and a couple of the sweetest little foxes.  For this rustic card, I made a wood-panel background with some woodgrain paper and the Horizontal Stripes die.  I love the look of that die cut wreath!  I used a sentiment from the Holiday Hugs set from last month.

This next card used the new Herringbone Panel die and matching Herringbone sentiment set.  I used the panel die to create a fun New Year shaker card.  There are a bunch of fun sentiments in the Herringbone sentiment set and they all fit perfectly on the Herringbone Panel (which can be used portrait or landscape).  More hamsters, of course!

Last but not least, I want to share some cards I made using my new die set called Rainbow Thank You.  This word die set is a bit different because it includes one large die and 3 coordinating dies.  The combination of dies means that you can do a bunch of different techniques like layering, inlaying, reverse die cutting, and more.  This first card shows what you can do with the one large die and the largest outline die.  The large word die cuts the "Thank You" with 5 outline rings, so it is perfect for creating rainbow designs.  I just love the retro feel of this design:)

For this next card, I used the large die with the 3 coordinating outline dies.  I used the inlaying technique (for the top layer) and layering for the other layers.  You can get so many looks with these dies!

For this next card, I just used one of the negative die cut pieces (one "ring" of the large die) in different colors to build a background.

For this last card, I combined the Rainbow Thank You dies with  the Coffee Cup die set to make a fun gift card holder.

This card has a fun little secret detail in the stacked sentiment.  I've used this technique before in the past and it's a fun way to add a little something extra to your die cuts.  The extra outline dies in this set make it possible to do this very easily.

That's it for me today!  I'm the last one in the hop, but here's the full list in case you just jumped in!

Waffle Flower October 2019 Release Blog Hop

Happy Fall everyone!
Today is release day at Waffle Flower and I am so excited to be sharing the October 2019 collection with you! I hope that you had a chance to check out the introductions this week on the Waffle Flower Blog and are ready to see all the goodies in action! This month, Waffle Flower is excited to celebrate Fall with three sets from the amazing illustrator Cassie Loizeaux: Happy Fall (stampdiecombo), Thankful Mouse Stamp Set (stamp)  and Fall Greetings (stampdiecombo). There’s also the beautiful Fall foliage set Happy Thanksgiving Stamp Set (stamp) from me:). For flower aficionados there’s the lovely Peony Bouquet  (stampdiecombo) and A Little Note (stampdiecombo) sets from Karla Jodoin. As a perfect companion to the flower sets, there is the Lattice Panel Die (stand alone die).  From the travel series by Kamo, there are two sets this month, Ni Hao (China) (stampdiecombo) and Ciao (Italy) (stampdiecombo)  To add to your sentiment collection, there’s the Oversized Thank You (stampdiecombo) with a beautiful script font. To get you ready to work on your holiday card reserves, there are the new Forestscape Panel Die (stand alone die) , Go Girl Winter Die (dies)  and Holiday Hugs (stampdiecombo)  For more details on the release, be sure to check out the monthly release video (link below) or check out the introductions on the Waffle Flower blog!

I have a ton to share today, so I hope you can stay awhile!  This first card uses my new set called Happy Thanksgiving.  As you can see, this set has a huge handwritten font sentiment and a bunch of fall leaves.  Using the rock and roll technique, I stamped the leaves and branches with Distress Inks on watercolor paper (love the texture it gives).  Then I went back in with water and blended the inks.

For this next card, I used the adorable Happy Fall set from Cassie!  Such cuteness in that set!  I put the images on a background that I cut with my new die Forestscape.

Speaking of Forestscape, here's a quick and easy CAS card with the same die.  I used my trusty Nuvo Jewel Drops to decorate the tree and used glitter paper for the snowy ground.  I love using non-traditional colors for the holidays!

These next two cards use my new set Holiday Hugs.  I'm super excited about these dies!  We always talk about cards being "paper hugs" but this set lets you create a card with a real hug!  And of course, there's a set of sentiments to match.

The set can also be use to create non-hug cards;) . I made this CAS card with just the mittens.  For the background, I made a shiplap type background by cutting stripes of woodgrain paper with the Horizontal Stripes die.  I cut the stripes and then blended some Distress Inks on them.  So much fun to do!

Last but not least, I have a couple of cards that I made with the new dies Go Girl Winter.  This set rounds out the Go Girl series with some fun winter-ish accessories.  For our friends in sunnier climes, there's also a few warm-weather dies too!  For this first card, I used the coffee cup dies and cape dies from the set.

For this card, I used the photo frame from the set (perfectly sized for the Go Girls!).  The fun word die is from the Holiday Hugs die set.  What a happy coincidence that it fits just right on that frame!

Thanks for stopping in and checking out the new release!  If you haven't already, please go check out the other folks on the hop today!  The next and final hop is the awesome Rebecca!  (Here's a full list, just in case)

Waffle Flower September 2019 Release Blog Hop

Hi guys!

This month, Waffle Flower is introducing a new illustrator Cassie Loizeaux with the September release!  Her set Flower Girl (stampdiecombo) is based on her charming and popular flower dress girl illustration.  In the September release, you'll also see new stamps from all your favorite Waffle Flower illustrators.  From Big Bear and Bird, we have Bear Hugs (stampdiecombo) that depicts one of her most popular designs.  You'll also see your favorite mice from Liz Mytinger in the Little Artists (stampdiecombo).  Rounding out the release are the new floral Poppy Hawthorn set (stampdiecomboby Karla Jodoin, retirement-themed sentiment set Happy Retirement (stampdiecombo), and a fun Fish & Chips mini stamp set (271273) from illustrator Kamo.

This month also includes some basics from the popular nesting dies series, Nesting Circles Die (310332), Nesting Squares Die (310333) and Nesting Ovals Die (310334). Like our popular A2 Layers Die, there are 17 dies in each of these nesting die sets including, as our customers put it, “all-the-sizes-I-need”.Also by popular request, we have our favorite stamp cleaner bottled with a dauber top and named it Tender Loving Cleaner (WFT002) for precise and messy-free applications.

Click here to watch the video introduction to the September release!

This first card uses my new set, Happy Retirement.  At work, there have been so many folks retiring and there wasn't much out there in terms of retirement-related stamps.  (I get it, I'm old!  Or at least my friends are, heehee!) .  The set has 2 large "Happy Retirement" stamps in different styles, one in a script and one in a bolder block.  It also comes with a bunch of smaller sentiments to mix and match for almost any recipient.   I used the script sentiment for this card and added some mice enjoying retirement:)

Each mouse is highlighted with a blended ink circle that I made using one of the many nesting circle dies.  That little painter mouse is from the new Little Artists set.

For the next card, I used the block sentiment with the new Bear Hugs set by Big Bear and Bird.  This group hug image is just the sweetest!

This next card uses the first set from our newest illustrator, Cassie Loizeaux.  If you are not familiar with her work, I strongly encourage you to check out her website and IG feed.  I love her charming whimsical style.  This set is called Flower Girl and is based on one of her signature illustrations.  I used the flower stamps from her skirt to heat emboss a floral frame around the edge of the card.  Can't wait to see what Cassie will have in store for us next time!

For my last two cards today, it was a case of one stamp, two cards!  The Poppy Hawthorne stamp from Karla can cover a full A2-sized card on it's own, but it's just as beautiful using just a small portion of the stamp.  With this card, I stamped the large image once, die cut, and colored lightly with Copic markers.  Then I cut the die cut down the middle.  I put the pieces onto separate card bases with a bit of foam and that was it.  I love the CAS look of the end results.

Thanks for stopping in and checking out the new release!  If you haven't already, please go check out the other folks on the hop today!  The next and final hop is the wonderful Jessica!  (Here's a full list, just in case)
