Waffle Flower Tools & Storage Blog Hop

Hi everyone!

To celebrate the Waffle Flower November 2019 Tools & Storage Release, we have a fun hop for you!  Be sure to leave comments at all the blogs in the hop by November 14, 2019 midnight Eastern for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to Waffle Flower's shop. Winner will be announced here by November 16, 2019 on the Waffle Flower Blog.
Today Waffle Flower is putting out a mini release of new tools and storage supplies!  Like the Water Media Mat and the swatching system, these new products are designed by crafters for crafters.  This release includes some super fun dies and supplies for disc binding.  Disc binding is perfect for swatching, mini albums, journaling, planners, and more!  Waffle Flower is releasing 3 new die sets that cut disc binder pages and the discs in a variety of fun colors.

Also new this month are new die storage Magnetic Boards.  These boards are definitely an upgrade to your current die storage system.  The boards are thick and have a glossy white surface side and a magnetic side.  The thick boards are less flexible which means that your dies stay put.  They work with the Cloud Storage Pockets.  You will love them!

Last but not least, Waffle Flower is releasing Premium Palette Paper.  This paper pad contains 30 sheets of waterproof synthetic paper.  You can use it as a work surface, but it also can be used as media for painting, inking, and more.

Click here if you want to see the whole collection on the website or check out the release video!

Today I want to share a couple of ways I used the new disc binding tools.  Disc binding is so much fun because you can bind different size pages together and you can add, remove, and rearrange pages whenever you want.  For my first project, I made a mini desk calendar.  I printed out the calendar and then used one of the dies from the A2 Disc Bound Die set.  I(f you want to make your own calendar, you can download the PDF file for the calendar on the Waffle Flower site)

After cutting each page, I loosely watercolored each one with different rainbow colors.  After they dried, I popped them onto the discs.

I fashioned a little stand so I could set the calendar on my desk.  I used the previously released  Disc Bound Hole Punch to make the stand, but you can use any of the larger dies to get the same effect.

I also used the same die set to put together a swatch book for some inks.  I used previously released Color Swatches for Inkpads stamp set and the Bullet List stamp set for this book.
I think swatch books like this are so useful because you can bring the swatches to your project.  For my inkpads, I like to stamp a solid stamp and a word stamp to get an idea of how the ink behaves.  The beauty of the disc system is that I can always add to my swatch book when new inks come out:) .  BTW, the little tabs are from the Color Combos A2 Panel die.

That's it for me!  Here's a full list of who's hopping today!  So many fun ideas to are sure to get your creative juices flowing!

Waffle Flower November 2019 Release Blog Hop

Happy release day everyone!
Today I’m so happy to be hopping with the Waffle Flower crew to celebrate the November 2019 release!   This month, Waffle Flower is introducing three whimsical style sets:  Blessed Bear from artist Big Bear and Bird, Merry Wreath by illustrator Cassie Loizeaux, and Winter Hamsters from illustrator Liz Mytinger.  Also new this month is the beautiful floral set Sunflower Love by illustrator Karla Jodoin.  This floral set pairs beautifully with the calligraphy style sentiment set Simply Said 1.  For those who enjoy coordinating panel dies and sentiment sets, there's the new Herringbone Panel and Herringbone Sentiments.  Rounding out the release are the Rainbow Thank You and Cozy Cabin die sets.  For more details on the release, be sure to check out the monthly release video (link below) or check out the introductions on the Waffle Flower blog!

There's such a fun variety of stamps and dies this month, so I have a bunch to share!  Let's start off with this easy holiday card using the new Winter Hamsters set.  This set is so cute and I had so much fun coloring these guys.

I also used these guys in my next card with the new die set, Cozy Cabin.  I designed the Cozy Cabin die set as a builder set to work with for petite images like the Winter Hamsters.  Makes it so easy to build cute little scenes like this.

Speaking of cute, Cassie Loizeaux has a new set this month called Merry Wreath.  This set has a multi step wreath and a couple of the sweetest little foxes.  For this rustic card, I made a wood-panel background with some woodgrain paper and the Horizontal Stripes die.  I love the look of that die cut wreath!  I used a sentiment from the Holiday Hugs set from last month.

This next card used the new Herringbone Panel die and matching Herringbone sentiment set.  I used the panel die to create a fun New Year shaker card.  There are a bunch of fun sentiments in the Herringbone sentiment set and they all fit perfectly on the Herringbone Panel (which can be used portrait or landscape).  More hamsters, of course!

Last but not least, I want to share some cards I made using my new die set called Rainbow Thank You.  This word die set is a bit different because it includes one large die and 3 coordinating dies.  The combination of dies means that you can do a bunch of different techniques like layering, inlaying, reverse die cutting, and more.  This first card shows what you can do with the one large die and the largest outline die.  The large word die cuts the "Thank You" with 5 outline rings, so it is perfect for creating rainbow designs.  I just love the retro feel of this design:)

For this next card, I used the large die with the 3 coordinating outline dies.  I used the inlaying technique (for the top layer) and layering for the other layers.  You can get so many looks with these dies!

For this next card, I just used one of the negative die cut pieces (one "ring" of the large die) in different colors to build a background.

For this last card, I combined the Rainbow Thank You dies with  the Coffee Cup die set to make a fun gift card holder.

This card has a fun little secret detail in the stacked sentiment.  I've used this technique before in the past and it's a fun way to add a little something extra to your die cuts.  The extra outline dies in this set make it possible to do this very easily.

That's it for me today!  I'm the last one in the hop, but here's the full list in case you just jumped in!
