Slowly continuing my quest to make it through all 5 of the Moxie Fab Card Design Handbook challenges! Each Moxie Fab challenge highlights a specific design principle from the issue. Cards for asymmetry and repetition are done, and today I'm trying out movement for the Moxie Fab World's Movement Challenge! {Seriously consider getting the Card Design Handbook if you haven't already done so! So much great info!} My projects were so easy this time that I did 2 different versions.
For this second card, I used the same chevron stamp but masked it this time. Depending on the application, I use a variety of "papers" for masking. This time I tried to use my Post-It tape. This tape is slightly thicker than regular Post-It notes and copy paper. Depending on the stamp, the thickness can cause an incomplete stamped image. This was the case for the chevron stamp (see the gaps where the image meets the tape). Usually when this happens, I start over. This time though, I removed the mask and actually liked the mistake better! I like the "feathery" feel:)

ReplyDeleteGorgeous! My favorite is the first one - You are a master JJ!
ReplyDeleteBoth awesome but I LOVE the first card!
ReplyDeleteJJ - you know I love everything you do! The color and your clean graphic look is always amazing to me and is your trademark. Love the second card best - how it looks like an exclaimation mark! Clever (I need a new word to describe you) Thanks for showing us how you got the shape you wanted with the Post it Tape - YES I fianlly found some!!
ReplyDeleteThese are both amazing cards! That first one is just incredible!
ReplyDeleteThey are both so different but super in their own ways. I love the first one and really want to know if you played around with the lineup of the colors before you started or did you wing it? Is it that light blue in the background that makes the images move? I can't quite put my finger on it.
ReplyDeleteAwesome movement! You're totally rockin' those chevrons!
ReplyDeleteHugs!

Both of these cards are so cool. The first one is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteYou always have the best ideas! Love what you've done with this chevron!
ReplyDeleteBoth of these cards are beautiful...like the way what you have done.Order Business Cards.
ReplyDeleteHappy mistakes are the best! Those edges definitely look feathery and also kind of mirror the curve around the sentiment. Really really awesome stuff, JJ! Hope you're having a fabulous week!
ReplyDeleteThis is AWESOME, JJ!! Love the colorful and graphic look of these two cards!
ReplyDeleteAwesome cards, JJ! I especially love the first one--I can just feel the movement! So amazing!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful stamping. I especially like the first card. The colors are just perfect. I love your single use of the celery ink. My eyes are drawn to the green.

Yes, yes, yes!! I love both of these! The first is so super cool, and the next one is quirky with the feathered edge. I just adore it. More, please : )
ReplyDeleteThese are both fab! I love the way the first card's chevrons overlap - and the feathered edges on the second totally work! I love it when the 'accident' ends up creating an unexpected great effect :)
