Something Special to Share and a Giveaway!

Paper Smooches released their newest set called "Autumn Groves" on August 15th and I am here today to help promote this sweet set!  This is the tenth stamp set from their "Kismet collection".  You will find the new stamp set HERE!

This set is just getting me in the fall mood!  When I think of fall, I think Halloween (which is one of my favorite holidays)!  So for my first crack at these stamps, I went SPOOKY!  I masked the face of the happy scarecrow and replaced it with evil eyes;)  I used a cloud mask to make a foggy background.  In the foreground are a couple of fussy cut trees attached to the frame.  The oversized moon is made of vellum blended with yellow ink.

I used the new set "Graffiti" to make the custom sentiment.  I love the slightly larger size of this set!  And I appreciate that some letters have 2 options.  Endless possibilities!  I stamped the sentiment in white and heat embossed it with clear.  This technique is good if you want a softer grayish color.

I had a little extra time play with fabby set, so I paired  "Autumn Groves" stamps with some past Paper Smooches sets.  My favorite thing about Paper Smooches stamps are the critters!  They have so much personality:)  So for this card, I used paired up a happy little beaver and silly fish:)  You like the cheeky sentiment?

That's it for me today!  Thank you so much for stopping by!  I have one "Autumn Groves" stamp set to give away to one lucky person!  You have until midnight on July 19th to leave a comment.  I will post the winner here on Monday, August 20th.

Becky Oehlers for GinaK: August Inspiration Blog Hop

Today I'm joining the Gina K Designs August Inspiration Blog Hop!  The stamp set I'm working with is Becky's new "American Made"!   Check them out here in rubber *and* clear {yay}!

With a name like "American Made", of course I went red, white, and blue and stars and stripes!  I just love those little stars that Becky made for in between the rays:)  The style of my card ended up being totally unlike my usual style, but I'm digging how it turned out.  And as the daughter of a career military man, I can appreciate Becky's patriotic theme!

I'm so glad that you stopped by to see my card today!  It was a lot of fun playing with Becky's designs and I can't wait to see all the fun stuff she's got in store for us!  To see more "American Made" goodies, follow the links to visit Becky, Vera, and Latisha!

And don't forget to check out the entire GinaK DT for the July Inspiration Blog Hop!

Avery Elle August Release Week Wrap Up

Today we reach the end of Avery Elle August Release Week and all the new stock hits the site! I've got just a couple more projects to share before we close this party out:)

For this first card, I paired the cute camera and speech bubble stamps of Picture It with the sentiments from Hello and the teeny heart from Framed Fonts!  It was definitely a team effort:)  To go with the card, I made a little bookmark from a piece of my practice stamping.  I have a certain tween girl in mind for both of these projects:)

My last project today takes a slightly different take on one of the Ikat border stamps.  I embossed the stamps in neon embossing powders to create this funky design!   I never thought I would say this after 1987, but I still love neon (at least for cards)!  The sentiment was cut using my Silhouette and embossed with matching powder.  A completely different look for the Ikat!

That's it for me!  I really appreciate you stopping by all week.  I really appreciate your comments and kindness:)  Please check out the links to see what Jamie, Heather, Kasia, and Chunyuan are showing today!

Avery Elle Release Week: Blooming Banner

Welcome to day 4 of Avery Elle August Release Week!  Today we're working with a stamp set called Blooming Banner!  Let's get right to the cards, shall we?

My first card uses one of the great bold sentiments from the Blooming Banner set.  The bold font against all the yummy grosgrain just makes me smile:)  For my second card, I used what I call the doily banner image to make a baby shower favor!

I used my Silhouette to create this little goodie bag wrap and it's super easy to assemble.  If you want to stamp a sentiment, the little window is easy to remove.  Click here to download the free Silhouette studio file for this project!  {See this page for terms of use, thanks!}

Jamie, Kasia, and Heather will be sharing their Blooming Banner projects today too, so click on over!

Avery Elle Release Week: Sentimental Swirls

Welcome to day 3 of Avery Elle August Release Week!  Today we're working with a set of sentiments called Sentimental Swirl!  This mini set includes 3 script sentiments and 2 scrolly stamps.

The font on this set is so versatile and works with practically any images. Below I've paired it up with Ikat!  {The mimosa ribbon is new this month too!  Love the name:)}

And here with Blossoms and Blooms!

For this one, I paired it again with the Ikat stamp on a housewarming card!  {The little "upholstered" chair was done with my Silhouette}

Today, Jamie, Kasia, and Chunyuan are sharing their Sentimental Swirls projects too!  Check them out!

The Cameo Spotlight: Challenge #1 Summer!

Are you ready for the inaugural challenge at The Cameo Spotlight?  Jackie has started us off with the fantastic theme of SUMMER!

When I was mulling over what I was going to post for this first challenge, I came up with all kinds of complicated ideas (shocker, I know, lol!).  In the end, I opted to go with a very straightforward card because I wanted my first creation for TCS to focus on combining a  Silhouette cut with stamping!  Here's the result...

Cutting text is one of my favorite things with the Silhouette because you can customize it to whatever shape and size you need.  There are so many free fonts available {Website dafont.com is a great place to start} and you can even find dingbat fonts that have images instead of letters.  For this card, I used a lovely free font called Dock 11.  I resized the letters to fit the width of the card and to allow my stamped image to show through well.

The card inside actually slides in and out of the outer shell (brown layer).  The island scene inside was created with lots and lots of blending.  The cloud effect was done with a mask (cut with my Silhouette).  The island stamp and the sentiment are both from Waltzingmouse Stamps {here and here}.  The perfect tropical summer sunset!

Click on over to The Cameo Spotlight challenge site to see more summer Silhouette creations from the TCS DT!  Then it will be your turn to create your own card or tag and link up:)  Can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
