Waffle Flower May 2021 Release Blog Hop

Welcome to Waffle Flower’s May 2021 Release day! Thank you for joining us in our release hop! I'm excited to show you all the fun new stuff awaiting you on the Waffle Flower website! This month, the Waffle Flower release is full of stamps, die, and stencils for social butterflies! Be sure to check out each stop in today's blog hop for fun, inspiration, and chances to win some of the new release goodies!

I'm super excited for this month because we've got some designs from new designer Galina Filippenko! You know Galina from the Waffle Flower DT team and she's designed some fantastic stamps, dies, and stencils this month! I love her style as a cardmaker, and I can't wait to see her designs in the future!

With that, I'll start off with a card I made using one of Galina's designs, the Single Butterfly Stencil. This is a huge stencil image and I am loving it! I have 2 cards today using this stencil that includes both the negative and positive pieces to use as a stencil and mask! For this card, I stenciled the butterfly using thick gouache paint. I added blobs of paint (the technical term;) and then used a palette knife to flatten it over the stencil. The sentiment is from the new Label Maker Sentiments set.

This next card uses another one of Galina's designs, the Flying Butterflies Die! (Did you know that a group of butterflies is called a kaleidoscope? )This die is an outline die, so you can do a bunch of different techniques with it. I inlaid the outline and then backed it with stripes cut with my Skinny Stripes die.

This card uses a new Galina die called the Circle Butterfly Shaker die. I love a good shaker card, so I did this one really quickly by inlaying the outline die cut and making it a shaker. Here's a tip for this die, you can also put a foam tape layer around the circle if you want to make it a two tone shaker. This time I just did a single color shaker, but I did add foam to the circle to keep the goodies from moving to the bottom. The sentiment is from the new Wrapped Bouquet set.

Last but not least today, I have one more card using the Single Butterfly Stencil. This stencil is oversized and is perfect for doing a double stencil look like this. To make this card, I first applied the butterfly stencil using Pixie Spray. This spray is a must have for stencils like this. Then I used Keeway's Sky Scene Stencil to add the rainbow clouds. The sentiment is from the previously released Tender Thoughts sentiment set.

That's all for me today! Be sure to check out each stop in today’s blog hop for fun, inspiration, and chances to win some of these new release goodies! Next on the hop is the always amazing Laura Bassen!
