Avery Elle: November Release Group Post Day

Happy Monday!  Today is the last day of November release week and all the new sets are available in the store!  On the last day of the release, each of the DT members showcase a different set.  My set happens to be Lovely Letters!  This alpha set has one of the prettiest fonts ever:)

For my first project, I did a simple garland card using the long beaded chain and star stamps from the Merry & Bright set you saw earlier this week.  I embossed a few of the stars in gold and added little gems to the centers.  The banner flag is from last month's set To the Point!  The flag is also embossed in gold and filled with the custom sentiment:)

This next card just shows how much the right sentiment can make all the difference.  When I use my Silhouette, I often have a hard time finding the right sentiment to go with the cut images.  I'm so happy that I was able to get the exact phrase I wanted this time with Lovely Letters!  And really, how beautiful is that font?  {The starburst behind baby Jesus is from Bright Days and the nativity scene is a Silhouette file}

My last project for the week is this set of candy cane favors!  Don't you love that candy canes come in fun colors now?  I used the circle medallion stamp from last month's Fanfare set to make some cute and EASY custom labels for my nieces and nephew.  The circle design kind of reminded me of peppermint candies.

Lining up alpha sets can be intimidating, but it was actually easier than I expected.  Just make sure you pencil in a line to keep you straight:)  As you can see, I spaced the letters closer together to get that seamless look.  I can't get over how pretty that font is!

That's it for me!  I really hope that you enjoyed this week's projects!  I can't wait to see what Jamie, Chunyuan, Kasia, and Heather have today!

Avery Elle Release Week Day #4 ~ Count On It

Today we're revealing the last of the November release!   Tomorrow we will all finish up with our final projects as all the new sets go up on the website!  Are you ready?  Today's set is one of those staples that you will use over and over!  It's called Count On It but it's so much more than numbers.

For my first project, I made a perpetual cube calendar!  I used paper, but this would work just as well with wood blocks.  I love paper crafts you can use over and over again:)

You could easily adapt this idea to make an Advent calendar and fill each cube with little goodies:)  Or how about ornaments?

My second project is a CAS New Years card!  The fog gray card stock looks so good with the neon colors!

Just a little matching glitter on the mini clothespins is so much fun!

Thanks so much for checking out my projects!  Click on over to see more Count On It projects from Jamie, Heather, and Kasia!

Avery Elle Release Week Day #3 ~ Merry & Bright

Back today with another Avery Elle new release!   Today we're showcasing a set called Merry & Bright!  Is it geeky to say that I love fonts?  Something about finding the perfect font is so satisfying:)  If you're a font or typography fan too, you'll love this set!

Today I have 2 cards to share, one traditional and one a little more colorful!  For this first card, I heat embossed the large type stamp in clear and covered it with deep dark red ink.  You could heat emboss white onto red cardstock, but I find the blended ink to have a bit more warmth.

For this second card, I heat embossed the same stamp again in clear and blended some neon green ink over it.  I cropped the image under the Polaroid frame from Picture It.  The rest of the sentiment is stamped in hot pink onto one of the flags from To the Point.  I still wanted to keep it clean and white, but this card needed just a little something more.  A little bit of flair from my pal Joscelyn Cutchens was the perfect thing!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Click on over to see more Merry & Bright projects from Jamie, Kasia, and Chunyuan!

The Cameo Spotlight Challenge #7 ~ Color

Is everyone ready for the next TCS challenge?  Today is the start of the The Cameo Spotlight #7 challenge which is another color challenge!  The colors are apple green, bright orange, rich red, and medium gray.  Of course, neutrals like black, white, and kraft are also included.

I am completely excited to share that our sponsor today is none other than Paper Smooches!  I'm a HUGE fan of Paper Smooches stamps:)  Each set that Kim Hughes designs and illustrates is so well thought out with tons of stamps that can be mixed and matched.  And the designs are super cute and fun!  Check out The Cameo Spotlight site see what wonderful Paper Smooches prize is up for grabs this challenge!

For my card today, I made a spinner card!  (I cheated a little with the colors by adding the blue, shhhhh!)  My little green man flies down in the spaceship to the awaiting astronaut.  To get that mottled color in the planet, I colored yellow cardstock with an orange Copic marker.  Then I put some colorless blender on a piece of paper towel and rubbed over the colored areas.  The alien, astronaut, and background stars are from the Space Cadet set.  The sentiment is a combo of stamps from Autumn Groves and Surf and Turf.  I have so much fun coloring and fussy cutting those PS images:)  Here are some pics of the spinner in action!

For details on how the spinner works, check out this post.  If you'd like to try this card out for yourself, click here to download the studio file!  {Please review the terms of use for my cut files here}

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Now click on over to The Cameo Spotlight challenge site to see more Silhouette creations from the TCS DT!

Caring Hearts Card Drive Blog Hop!

Today I'm hopping with Vera Yates and a ton of super fabulous folks to promote the Caring Hearts Card Drive!  The Caring Hearts Card Drive collects and distributes handmade cards for folks in nursing homes during the holidays.  How great is that?  Vera has enlisted a bunch of REALLY cool sponsors this year, so your cards may even get you a fabulous prize (not that you needed it, but it is nice:).  You have until November 30th to deliver your cards!  Get all the details on Vera's site.

Now for my cards:)  The theme of the hop is holiday cards (der, lol!) and my first card was inspired by the fabulously creative Laura Bassen!  I've been admiring her fantastic stamped plaids for months and figured I'd try out a basic plaid (very basic:).   Of course, I had to add a die cut and here's the result!

Supplies: Basic Borders (Mama Elephant), Snowflake Die & Sentiment (WPlus9)

I also did another card just for fun! I don't even know where I got that little sentiment stamp, but I love it! This one is dedicated to my hubby:) Poor guy is always in charge of the uncooperative lights!

Supplies: Holiday Lights ~ Warm Wishes (Avery Elle)

So are you ready to hop?  If you're going in order, the lovely Savannah is next on the list:)  If you get lost along the way, just pop back to Vera's post!

Ren-Yi

White you're hopping, don't forget to leave some LOVE along the way!  Vera will randomly be picking some winners from the comments!  You could win prizes from these amazing sponsors: Bella Blvd, Hero Arts, Lawn Fawn, Avocado Arts, May Arts, Two Peas in a Bucket, and Online Classes with Jennifer McGuire!

Avery Elle Release Week Day #1 ~ Warm Wishes

Happy November people!  Hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween:)  I'm so excited because over the next 5 days, I'll be introducing you to 4 awesome stamp sets from Avery Elle!  Today we're all featuring projects using the new set Warm Wishes!

I don't know about you, but when it comes to cards, I jump straight from Halloween to Christmas!  Christmas is my favorite!  When I was a little girl in Hawaii, we had a cardboard fireplace that my dad would put up every year because we didn't have anything even resembling a fireplace, lol.  (Ever try to hang a stocking on a cardboard fireplace?  Not the easiest thing.)  So now that I live on the East Coast, I enjoy winter and all the stuff that comes with it.

Because I love the Christmas so much, it was a pleasure to pull out all the holiday goodness in Warm Wishes!  This first card was made with just 2 stamps, the holly leaves and berries.  I penciled in a circle using one of my dies and just stamped the leaves multiple times in 3 different greens.  The bow is from Fanfare, but the Warm Wishes set also has a bow you could use:)  So, so easy!  And easy to make it a one layer card for mailing.

My next card is just a little mini card with just a teeny stamp:)  I edged the card with my Sakura gel pen for a little more sparkle:)

Thanks for stopping by today!  Click on over to see more projects from Jamie, Heather, Kasia, and Chunyuan!
