UPDATE: The results are in and I'm not moving on to Round 4 of Gallery Idol! Now before you break out the kleenex and violins (just kidding), I just want to say that I'm so glad I had the opportunity to play along and I don't regret a minute of it! This competition has brought so many good things and, even more importantly, good people my way! Thank you so much for supporting me and making me feel like a winner!
It seems appropriate that I post a project of THANKS today! This post will be going up on the blog the night before I find out if I've made it to Round 4 of the Paper Crafts Gallery Idol Contest, but I don't need to know the outcome in order to be thankful! Thankful for the opportunity, thankful for the chance to meet so many new and wonderful people, and thankful for all of your support! Whichever way the wind blows on Friday, it's ALL GOOD!

So today, I'm sharing a little favor bag that I made up for the kids' teachers. Nothing like waiting until the last minute;) I wish I had some better pics, but the cellophane bag was not having it!
If you have a digital die cutter like a Silhouette/Cameo, this project is a snap. (For those with a cutting system, it's basically just a word welded to a large rectangle) This look could also be achieved by partial die-cutting with letter dies.
That pretty much says it all! As always, thank you all for stopping by and taking a peek!
Much mahalo and aloha,
jj
Paper: Pink (Recollections), Delovely (Cosmo Cricket)
Tools: Silhouette SD
I was going to say, PATTERNED PAPER? I must be on the wrong blog, lol :) Teasing!
ReplyDeleteI love this clever idea - of course I've waited until the last minute (and am still waiting...apparently 1.5 weeks is not last-minute enough?) and with two schools' worth of staff to thank (eek!) this may be a much less time-consuming way to go than my usual card sets! Plus, all I'd need is the candy...mmmm, candy....are those peanut butter cups? YUM.
You have taught me much in our short new friendship. I am happy to call you friend (and proud)!
ReplyDeleteVery clever and beautiful! Those teachers will love it!
ReplyDeleteThis is just so brilliant, what a fantastic idea and so cute.
ReplyDeletelove the project and love your stuff. I'm sad you didn't make it further. I loved what you did with the Masculine Feminine cards. So cute.
ReplyDeleteIts so pretty. Love this.

JJ, I wish you all the luck and best wishes for your Gallery Idol round 4. I am here today because I am playing along at the Moxie fab World and your blog roll number is #1118. You are the tenth blog on my list to visit and I am linking your blog as the one that most inspires me today! this is a wonderful project! Have a wonderful Father's Day and again good luck!
ReplyDeleteJJ - You are one classy lady! In my eyes you are everything a winner should be. You are gracious, and humble. I am so THANKFUL you are my friend and I am so proud to know you!
ReplyDeleteMust try this with my Silhouette, if I ever dust it off and learn to use it! :)
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to see you're not continuing in GI, but of course you'll continue to inspire me and all of your new fans with every post. Congrats on making it to the Top 15--that is an amazing accomplishment on its own!
What a cute teacher gift, and once you got everything set up it seems like you could easily make multiples of these. Great idea! So disappointed to see you not make the next round. Not because we didn't try! I really loved all of your creations (still can't get over your sprinkles falling from a hidden reservoir!!)
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to let you know that you are my favorite designer out of all of the Gallery Idol entrants. If it were up to me you would have gone on ....and eventually won.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear that you didn't make it into the next round of Gallery Idol. I really thought you would win it. You're an inspiration to me and so many others.
ReplyDeleteLOVE your FUN project JJ! I look forward seeing more creations made using your Silhouette machine. :)
Awwwww JJ, so sorry you didn't make it to the next round - I'm shocked! I loved your entries and really thought you'd make it to the final. Your final round got my vote with your genius use of that stamp! I hope you've enjoyed the crazy, creative journey...!
ReplyDeleteNow this project is fabulous! I sure wish I taught your kids ;D
Hugs!

Some of the best creativity comes from last minute. I love it and think its brilliant. I like that the whole thing goes inside the bag with minimal adhesive. You're projects are all amazing!!
ReplyDeleteFound you via Moxie Fab, such a sweet treat, pardon the pun!
ReplyDeleteWonderful year end thank you project. Congratulations on making it as far as you did in the Idol competition. You are a winner in my book, and I learn something and see something beautiful every time I come to your blog.
ReplyDeletewell i voted for you and absolutely love visiting your blog. i thoroughly enjoy seeing what your mind has come up with! you're so very talented
ReplyDeleteCongrats on making it so far in Gallery Idol. If it was up to me you would be in round 4. I really liked how you used Daydreamer in your last round - ingenius! My DH would have loved a card like that. You had my vote. :)
ReplyDeleteI be already said how shocked I was that you didn't make it through to round 4 but you don't need to be a gallery idol to continue to WOW me with your creations!!
ReplyDeleteThis gorgeous gift bag is just the very inspiration I mean.... So simple and just unique too.... Need to try this partial die-cutting technique :0)

You are a stamping IDOL in my book!
ReplyDeleteI love that patterned paper! So perfect for an end of school gift as it screams summer! I love that die cutting technique too. It looks so cool!
ReplyDeleteAnd I said it before but I'll say it again - no matter what the "official" results you'll always be my Gallery Idol!
