I'm still experimenting a bit with some new supplies from Papertrey Ink. What started as a way to practice with the new dye PTI inks, turned into this card. {As you can see by my spotty stamping, I'm still getting used to the new ink. Spotty patches aside, I do love the fact that my ink and paper match perfectly!}
This card also gave me a chance to try out my capital letter dies. I have a Silhouette cutter, but lately I seem to prefer the ease and immediacy of dies. To give the letters a bit more weight, I cut them twice, once in Aqua Mist and once in Hawaiian Shores. I stacked them slightly offset to get that shadow font look.
Here's a take away tip for adhering thin die cuts using foam dimensionals. Instead of using pre-made foam circles/squares, use foam tape instead (I use Scotch brand). It's easy to cut into thin strips and odd sizes. Plus, it's cheaper and less puffy. Your die cuts won't look like they're teetering on tower. {You smarties out there probably know this tip;)
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!

Love the fun shape of your card and the fabulous layered letters! I mostly use Pop Dots as they're much thinner than other foam adhesives but the foam tape sounds like a good idea too. Will have to see if I can find it here on the rock...
ReplyDeleteLove the colours together - and the shadow font looks brilliant! Foam tape is totally my go-to, and if you can't find Scotch, sometimes you can find it in the hardware section. I am super lucky & get it at the dollar store. Makes shaker cards sooo much easier when you don't have to line up tons of little pieces.
ReplyDeleteYour card is fabulous! Love the colors and the flower center used for the letter 'O' in love.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to cut out the letters twice! Love it!
