Moxie Fab Challenge Card Play #2

Normally, I don't get the time to work on two cards in one day, but today was an unusual day for many reasons.  We live just outside of Washington DC and, although our immediate family wasn't directly affected by the events of September 11th, we do know folks who suffered loss and tragedy that day.  Around here, the tone is surprisingly somber, partly out of respect to those who were lost and partly because we live with the reality that this could happen again in our own backyard.  So today was spent close to home, reflecting and remembering and spending quiet time with loved ones.  {Sorry to be so serious!}

This card was also made for the Moxie Fab Challenge - Card Play (see my other post from earlier today for the first card I made).

Like my first card, I went very CAS.  I started with the house die from the PTI Love Lives Here set and cut a small house from a blue playing card.

I didn't have a stamp that was just right, so I printed off a sentiment.  Still have to work on the font, but it'll do:)  The little house is popped up on foam dots over the pink banner.  To finish it off, I put a small jewel in the cut out heart.  Easy peasy and quite therapeutic.

Thanks for looking (again)!

And for all those affected by the events of September 11th, you are in our thoughts!

  1. I don't think you need to apologize for being serious - it's a somber anniversary, and it's important to acknowledge what's important to you!
    On a different subject, I like this card-inspired card too :) The white-on-white layers are striking with the pops of colour, and I love the subtle punched edges.
