Waffle Flower & Tombow Inspiration Week

Hi everyone!

Hello everyone! We have teamed up with our friends at Tombow to bring you a whole week of inspirations using products from both of our companies!

I'm excited to share a couple cards with you today using my Tombow Dual Brush pens!  I've had these pens for awhile and they are so versatile!  They are water-based ink pens that have a brush tip on one end and a smaller pen nib on the other.

For this card, I masked off a rectangle and did a quick rainbow color.  At this point, you don't have to be super precise.  Then I took water and a paintbrush to blend all the colors.  For larger areas like this, a paintbrush works easier than the Tombow blender pen.  Then it was a just a matter of letting it dry, stamping the sentiment, and adding some raindrops.  Super fast and easy!

For this card, I die cut a bunch of flowers with my Sprigs Dies.  Then I used my markers to color each flower.  For the petal parts, I used 2-3 colors for each flower and then used the blender pen to get some spot blending.  Then I took the same marker (in darker colors) and stippled in the centers of the flowers.  This time, no blending.

This is so easy to do with the Tombow markers because they have a brush tip on one end and a fine point nib on the other.  Then I just "planted" my flowers in a flower box that I made with my Additional A2 dies.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Definitely check out the other Tombow projects this week!

There will be a giveaway for you to enter on Instagram on Friday for 2 winners to each receive a prize package totaling $150! More details to come! To stay ahead of the game, follow us at @waffleflower.com and Tombow at @tombowusa NOW!

Waffle Flower March 2020 Release Blog Hop

Hi everyone!

So March at Waffle Flower is a bit different with releases😊 The February and March releases are available on the website in February to coincide with Creativation.  So you may have already seen some of these goodies out there!

This month we have Tulips Combo by Karla Jodoin (includes stamp and die), Little One Baby Combo (includes stamp and die) and Little One Alpha Die by Cassie LoizeauxPuppy Power Combo by Big Bear and Bird (includes stamp and die), Oversized Hello Combo (includes stamp and die), Be a Unicorn Die, and the Sprigs Die.
This release we also have the Nesting Basics 2 bundle with the Additional A2 Layers (stand alone die), Additional Squares (stand alone die), Additional Circles (stand alone die), and Additional Ovals (stand alone die).  These dies are sized to fill the in-between sizes of the original nesting sets previously released .  Together, they cover every size that you would need!  A great value for a crafting staple!

Let's get to the cards!  For my first card, I used Cassie Loizeaux's adorable Little One Baby Combo.  Cassie always has the cutest images in her sets!  Obviously, this is a baby set, but there are a bunch of cool frames and wreaths too.  You should definitely check it out!  I used all the swaddled little babes to make this fun baby card.  It was so much fun to color each little one.

I used the dies from the Additional A2 Layers (stand alone dieset to create all the little babies in isolettes like in the hospital. If you look closely, you can see I used an embossing folder to make the isolette bed look quilted.  It's all in the details, right?  The sentiment is from the Oversized Hello set.

My second card uses one of my designs from this release, Oversized Hello, with Karla Jodoin's Tulips set.  I thought that the tulips would be so pretty grouped together in the Spring Basket from last month's release.  For the sentiment, I used stacked die cuts and tucked a sentiment strip in there too.

Because of the scale of the sentiment and tulips, this card is larger too.  I love A2-sized cards, but it's always fun to mix it up.

My last two cards today use my new die set called Sprigs.  I love builder sets and I designed this set to be flexible.  The petite branches and flowers work great with all kinds of sets or alone like this card.  There are 11 dies in this set, so I used several to create a rainbow.  This kind of card is great to use up your paper scraps!

For this next card, I die cut the sprigs and colored them with Copics, a Micron pen, and a white gel pen.  I used the Additional Squares dies for the planters. I can't tell you how much fun this was.

For the background, I taped off a rectangle and watercolored a soft blue wash.

That's all for me today!  Next in the hop is the the awesome Rebecca, but here’s the full blog hop list, so you don’t miss a thing!
