Hi everyone! I've been practicing with my craft videos and I've got one more this week! This time I used the Love Puffin set and the Rocky Shores die set. Here's a look at the card in the video...
And here's the video...
I hope you are enjoying the videos! I always wonder what folks like to see the most. I'd love to hear what types of crafty techniques you'd like to see!
As always, thanks so much for stopping by! Of the many things for which I am thankful, all my crafty friends are certainly up there on the list:) Mahalo,
I just wanted to post a card I made for my niece who turned 5 recently. I can't seem to stop playing with my Hang in There dies and stamps, but this time, I changed it up just a bit. Instead of hanging on, my kitty cat is holding on! I did this by slightly angling the die and cutting the paws individually.

If you'd like to see exactly how I made this card, check out my new video...
And here's the original video on how to use the dies...
I hope everyone has a wonderful week! And a happy and safe Thanksgiving to those in the US:)
Hi guys! If you need a little pick me up this week (like I do), check out the new release on the Avery Elle site! I have some new designs out including the stamp and die set, Hang in There. Here's some peeks at that set in action...
This release is looking toward next Spring season, so I also designed a fun Valentine's set called Love Puffin. There is a stamp set with some cuddly puffins and a coordinating die set. I also created a background builder die set called Rocky Shores. These dies go well with the puffins, but would be great for making any beach/water scene.
Speaking of building backgrounds, this Trees dies set is just what you need to create practically any forest background! I love using it with my woodgrain papers:)
Last but not least, I designed some coordinating dies for my previously released stamp set Swim Team.
The full release is out on the Avery Elle site right now! Thank you for stopping in! And to everyone out there having a rough week like me, big hugs!!! The love and friendship that I've found in the card community really means the world to me!
Hey everyone! You don't even know how happy I am to be back on the blog today! It's been a crazy fall filled with college applications and football for the boys and a new job for me. But today, I'm so glad to be back to introduce some of my new designs coming out with Avery Elle this week! I have a few cards on the blog today with just a sampling of the new stamps and die sets. This first card features the Hang in There die and stamp set.
Together this stamp and die set lets you make all kinds of custom 3D animals. The dies are meant to cut the shape of the animal and the stamps add faces or texture. Unlike other dies, there is no outline. This card uses the cat shape to create a little kitty in a window:)
Instead of describing how these dies and stamps work, here's a video of them in action...
For this next card, I used the new Trees die set to create a custom forest scene. This die set allows you make almost any sized tree or branch. It also has additional dies to create leaves, birdhouse, and even a tree hollow! The dies work so well with woodgrain paper (or woodgrain embossed paper) like this...
Avery Elle Trees dies; Love Birds stamps and dies; Hanging Banners stamps and dies
The last set I'm featuring on the blog today is Love Birds stamps and coordinating dies. This set has some sweet Spring images including the flower girl and bird below. Check out the Avery Elle blog for a look at the entire set. I'll be posting more cards in the upcoming weeks with this set.

In addition to the sets above, I also have a fun Puffin set (called Love Puffin, natch) and coordinating dies for my previously released set Swim Team. You'll definitely be seeing some of those sets used on the blog in coming weeks. The full release will be November 10th, so keep an eye out at the Avery Elle site! Thanks for stopping by!
Hi guys! I'm hopping today with the lovely ladies of Poppystamps, but today there's a twist! (You're on track if you just popped in from Jinny Newlin's blog!) Today we're pairing up our wonderful Poppystamps stamps and dies with Birch Press Design dies! Have you seen the Birch Press Design stackable dies? They are AMAZING!!!!
I'm using the Honeybee Layer Set which has 3 layers of hexagon design cover plate dies. You could do so much with each of the layers, but the real magic happens when you layer all three like this...
I wanted to create a clean and simple card, so I used the layers in just white to create lots of texture. The white design looks so neat over the ombre-colored background!
I didn't want it to get too busy, so I stamped my sentiment on a strip of vellum and then added my die cut butterfly (from Ornamental Butterflies). To create the butterfly, I actually blended Distress Ink over the die cut and then stamped it with the scroll stamp using just water! I dabbed with a paper towel and what I got was a delicate lacy pattern.
The next stop on the hop is the wonderful Lezlye Lauterbach! And don't forget, one lucky hopper will win a $25 gift certificate! Hoppers have until 12 am US EST on August 27th to leave a comment for a chance to win. The winner will be announced on the Poppystamps blog on August 29th.

You haven't lost your way if you came from Laurel Beard's blog!
Hello, and welcome to the Late Summer 2016 Essentials by Ellen Release Hop! I’ll be showcasing several of the new stamp sets and dies on my post today! It's always a fun day when I get to hop with the folks over at Ellen Hutson;) My first card uses one of the 2 dies in the Sunshine Word die set by the ever-awesome Julie Ebersole:) These little dies are so cute! Using an inlaid die cut technique, I created little "sunshine" squares. Because the letters in this die are all hooked together, it's super easy to do the inlaid technique.
For the background, I made a mask using the cloud dies from the Silver Linings die set and created some lightly blended clouds.
This next card uses the new Stay Salty stamp set and matching dies. These sets have all kinds of natural nautical designs with some fantastic sentiments. Speaking of sentiments, the font on this one is awesome, no? For this card, I created a little scene using the two sun ray panels of the Silver Linings die set. Together, they make a perfect full ray pattern.
The panels are blended with water-based ink and I stamped over them with Versamark. Then I went back with a small water brush and "painted" inside the clouds and waves. This removed the color just a bit for a bit more depth. This card just makes me want to hop in a boat and watch the sunset with a margarita;)
I hope you are enjoying the hop and all the wonderful new release! And, you know what? I also get to give away an Essentials by Ellen stamp set! Woohoo! The winner may ANY

I'm so excited to be debuting my Happy Home, Hanging Banners, and Falling Snow stamps and die designs for Avery Elle today! You know that I love a good "scene" card, and these new stamps and dies make it easy to create some homey and snowy scenes.
My first card combines the Happy Home die set (shown on the right above) with the Hanging Banners stamps and die sets (the two sets in the middle). The Happy Home die set has everything you need to make a portrait or landscape A2 house card.
When you have a full size design that covers the entire card face, it can be tricky to get a sentiment on there. The Hanging Banners are a fun way to add the sentiment without covering the design of the card.
And of course, you don't have to make a holiday card...
The flowers are actually one piece that is colored with Copics. Because it's all one piece, they are much easier to attach behind the window boxes.
The last new release I want to share with you is the Snow Die. This die lets you create really snowy scenes with a natural-looking snow fall! The die is designed to be used multiple times to cover a bigger area. For this card, I die cut it 3 times to get this effect. Then I blended some dark blue inks over it and glued it to white card base.
For the bottom I used the wavy die in the Custom Panels set to create a snow bank and added a Mama and Baby Penguin from the Penguin Greetings set. The sentiment is from the Hanging Banners stamp set which works even without the banner.
Thanks so much for stopping by! The new release will be out August 11th, so keep an eye out at the Avery Elle site! Lots of other fun goodies!
Hi everyone! It's been far too long since I've posted but I'm glad to be back! Today I have two cards that I made using my Poppystamps Quiet Bird Sash die and a distressed stencil background. The sash dies by Poppystamps are very unique because the ends are open and do not cut. Because they do not cut at the ends, you can do custom apertures using any shape dies you have. For the card above, I used the sash die with a square shape die. For the card below, I die cut the sash and then used an oval die. All you have to do is slip the shape die behind the cut sash die like so...
For my background, I used a stenciling technique with Distress Inks and baby wipes. First I blended two types of ink colors onto watercolor paper (do not use cardstock for this technique). For this technique to work well, blend lots of ink onto the paper. Then I laid the stencil over the panel and gently rubbed over the paper with a baby wipe. You do not need to use a lot of pressure, the watercolor paper responds quickly to the baby wipe and the color starts to come off. You can take off as much or as little ink as you wish. I did a version in green/blue with my Memory Box Garden Birch Trees stencil...
and a yellow/coral version with my Memory Box Texture Splatter stencil.
The final step is to add the window panel over the background with foam tape. Here's the finished card using the yellow/coral background.
That's it for me today! I hope you have a wonderful weekend and a Happy 4th of July to all my friends in the States!
Check out my second card for the new release Blog Blitz on the Poppystamps blog! Today I'm featuring the fun Jumbled Happy Birthday die. While you're visiting the Poppystamps Blog Blitz, don't forget to leave some comments! For every comment you leave, you have a chance to win one of the new release products! There are 2 release products highlighted every day of the blitz, so there are lots of chances to win!
Good morning everyone! I have a quick shaker card for you today using one of my favorite background dies, Jourdana Collage. This die is great for creating texture and I love the random look of the design. Instead of backing the die cut with colored card stock, I thought I'd do a peekaboo shaker.
Here's a closeup of the shaker innards;) I've made lots of shakers and I've never thought had too much filler, so I always go for more! I also use foam tape over the dead spots in the design, so that the shaker filling doesn't fall where it cannot be seen (see those two pieces of foam in the corners?).
For the butterfly, I watercolored it, added watercolor powder, sprayed it with white mist, sprayed it with shimmer mist, and then sprinkled it with hex glitter.
Here's a close up of the final card with the subtle shaker. Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great week!
