Today is Waffle Flower’s September 2020 Release day! All of the products from this month’s release are waiting for you on the website here!
This month Waffle Flower is celebrating the coming of fall with 8 new stamp sets and 6 new die sets! It’s back to school with the Learn at Home stamp set, Back to School stamp set, Monitor die, and Safe at Home sentiments. This fall, Waffle Flower is also taking time to celebrate all the everyday heroes in our communities! The Frontline series features 4 stamp sets (Frontline Heroes 1, Frontline Heroes 2, Frontline Heroes 3, and Frontline Helpers) to cover all your community heroes from nurses and doctors to grocery workers and delivery folks! For the nature lovers, there’s the Home Sweet Home stamp set and Fall Leaves dies. And just for fun, we’ve got the cute House Outline dies, versatile Nesting Diamonds dies, and the Skinny Stripes die set (similar to our popular Horizontal Stripe and Vertical Stripes dies)!
The Waffle Flower design team has been having lots of fun with this release and we’re excited to share our cards with you today!
For my first card I used the combined the new Skinny Stripes die with some stamps I already have in my stash! The Skinny Stripes die set is part of a series of builder dies like the previously released Vertical Stripes die and Horizontal Stripes die. I love using stripes in my cards, but cutting them with my paper cutter was not working! The Skinny Stripes die cuts 7 narrow strips about 3/16" wide at once. One die cuts long strips (5.5" long") and the other cuts short ones (4.25" long). There's also a small rectangle die that is sized to fit across 7 strips.
For this card, I stamped the Magnolia flower stamp onto 2 separate panels and used the Skinny Stripes just on one panel. I used Distress Inks to color the strips in rainbow colors and laid them over the uncut panel. This works great with any large scale image stamps. The sentiment is a combination of stamps from the Outline Love set.
This next card also uses the Skinny Stripes! This time I did an open weave and filled in a negative circle. The sentiment is from the Safe at Home sentiment set.
The best thing is that I have a bunch more stripes left for other projects! Tip for folks that want to try this: use cardstock with color on both sides! You get a ton more colors for your work and you can do a see through card where you can see the weave on the inside of the card!
My last card today uses the new Monitor die set. I don't have any little ones in school (just big ones in college;) but I know lots of students and teachers who could use a bit of encouragement right now! I combined the Monitor die with the previously-released Pencil In set from Kamo (which I've always loved). The Monitor dies come with a square grid die to make a split screen like this.
The sentiments made using the Safe at Home set and other previously released sets (fonts all match:) and the Nesting Speech Bubbles die set.
That's it for me today! Here's the links for the whole release hop! I'm so lucky to be on this amazing team! They always surprise me with their creativity. The always fantastic Keeway is next on the hop, but here's the whole list in case.
