Hey folks! Today's Avery Elle project uses the fabulous Avery's Alphas! I only used the stamps today, but if you hopped with us last week, you saw me using the matching dies! So much fun to create custom cards with these sets:)
My card today is super quick and easy which is a good thing because I seem to be running out of time this holiday season. My goal was to create something fun and colorful (it's for a young girl) that could hold a gift card and here's what happened!
I stamped "ENJOY" onto vellum (using Stazon ink so it wouldn't smear) and colored the letters in with Copics. I love that the alpha stamps are made to line up end to end so they line up so easily! Copics can look streaky on vellum, but I thought the streakiness worked well with the card. I cut another piece of vellum and stitched up a small pouch with different sized sequins inside. To keep it fun, I used two different colors of thread and I wasn't all that careful with my sewing (as you can see, lol!). How's that John Legend song go? Perfect imperfections:)
I usually don't show the insides of my cards but I wanted to show how I attached my gift card. My awesome and talented friend Nina of Waffleflower designed these dies. Well, I'm not sure if Nina had this in mind, but the small carat-shaped die (the arrowhead one) works perfectly to create tabs that can be used create a custom gift card holder. It always makes me nervous when a gift card is loose inside a card and this is an easy solution to that problem.
That's it for me today! Heather's got a card to share today too, so click over:)
