Did you know there are dies available for this month's Studio Calico card kit and add-on? The matching dies for main card kit Sugar Rush and Taffy add-on are now available on the SC website here and here.
Here are a couple cards I made using some of the new dies...
For this first card, I used the partial die cutting technique to die cut the sweet girl stamp with a base. For the background, I used the new Confetti Die. I backed the die cut with an ombre paper and a strip of the gold ribbon. The sentiment is stamped on vellum. The vellum sentiment looks like it's floating because I cut out a "stem" that I've adhered to back of the girl's die cut. Just a little trick to attaching vellum to your card without showing your adhesive:)
The dies are so easy to use because they are open in the middle. This means you can stamp first, then die cut (which is much easier than the reverse). Aren't those tiny kit bows the sweetest?
Here are a couple cards I made using some of the new dies...
In this next card, I used the dies to create a sweet kite scene. All the elements were stamped and then die cut. I used watercolors to color my stamped images and the background. Just a hint, don't use a water-based ink if you are going to color with watercolors. I used Versafine Onyx Black for the images and the sentiment.
To celebrate the new kits and dies, I'm offering a giveaway today!!!! I have one Studio Calico Sugar Rush main kit dies (same ones I used above) to give away! There are 3 ways you can enter the giveaway:
